Seniors

The senior squad have been hard at it for some time with preseason starting back in July under the watchful eyes of our all-new coaching team of Reggie Reid, Tom Laws and Duncan Low.

With the lung busting fitness sessions and two pipe openers against Thorney and Peterborough 2nd XV behind them, the phoney war is over and the league campaign starts at home against our old friends from St Neots on 14/09/2019 (1500hrs KO), with the 2nd XV taking on Kettering 3rd XV, also at home.

The following Saturday, 21/09/2019, sees the 1st XV in Cup action, at home to Bedworth, and also the first trot out of the season for the Staggerers as they begin the defence of their league title at home v Deeping Dinosaurs.

On the final Saturday of September, the 1st XV travel to Spalding for a league game, with the 2nds away at Wellingborough.

As ever, your support for these games is much appreciated.

Colts

The Colts are in action at home this Saturday (07/09/2019) v Bedford Athletic, 14:00 KO, and then at Home again the following week v Peterborough (12:00KO) as a curtain raiser prior to the 1st XV game.

Their last game in September sees them in action in the Eastern Counties Merit Cup, with opposition and venue to be confirmed.

Minis & Juniors

We look forward to welcoming new and returning Mini & Junior players on Sunday 08/09/2019 for Registration Day.  You will have by now received an email detailing the Registration arrangements for all players as we move to the RFU Online Game Management System and online payments, but our Membership Team will be available from 08:30 on Sunday to answer any queries and resolve any problems, and we aim to make this process as painless as possible so everyone can crack on with the first training sessions of the season.

Social

A lot of work has taken place over the closed season and those of you who have already been to the club this year won’t have missed the changes to the bar area, which has been refurbished thanks to the hard work of our House & Grounds lead, Bill Shakespeare, and our new Bar Stewards, the dynamic duo Will & Jackie Bradley.

Jackie in particular has big plans to widen the offerings behind the bar, so if your favourite tipple isn’t currently available, let her know!

Two social dates for the diary this month are our opening pre-match lunch prior to the St Neots game on 14/09/2019, priced at £25 a head for a 3 course meal with lunch, and the World Cup Breakfast on 22/09/2019 for England’s opening game of the campaign v Tonga at 11:15
