Following the damage caused to the Clubhouse and the Racecourse from the two floods last year and earlier this year, we have been liaising closely with the Racecourse management regarding the refurbishment works, who have in turn been restricted in action by their Insurers.
We are now in a position to provide you with a timeline for return.
W/c 13 September 2021 - With 90% of new electrical items in situ and a clear out by club members on last Tuesday , the Racecourse will carry out a deep clean of the public areas in preparation for the following week.
Weekend of 18/19 September 2021 - The Clubhouse will be open with changing room, showers, and limited bar and kitchen available, but no cooker. (The replacement cooker was ordered some months ago, but supply is slow, current delivery date is the end of the month). No refurbishment will have taken place so we will have to live with concrete rather than carpet on the floor.
Match day and Minis/Juniors food will need to be BBQ based or delivered in.
Weekend of 25/26 September 2021 - First home league game on the Saturday , Clubhouse open with limited bar, The Racecourse providing their facility (The Cromwell Suite) for the pre match lunch.
Cooker unlikely to be in place BBQ food solution required for seniors, Minis and Juniors.
Moving forward, the cooker should be in place by 1st October 2021. Longer term, the Racecourse have given us assurance that the refurbishment of the Clubhouse will be completed by late December 2021, and will take place on non-matchdays etc to cause minimum disruption the Club.
