The RFU have now released a phased return to Rugby training and playing. As a result next wednesday (10.06.2020) from 7.30pm to 8.30pm the club will be running a bespoke fitness session designed by Will Greatorex a qualified personal trainer, in line with the RFU and social distancing guidance.
The session is open to all adult club members (including those players eligible for the Colts, parents, coaches etc). As the first session after lockdown you will appreciate the need for discipline and to follow the following rules.
  1. Arrive at the club 7.15pm, please do not mingle at this stage. The training marshal will assign you a designated work area, which we would ask you to go to directly.
  2. You will be in a group of 5. Even within your group you need to adhere to the social distancing requirements i.e. 2 metres. There will be sufficient space in your area.
  3. After any exercise where you have touched a ball wipe your hands and the ball down with the cleansers provided.
  4. Do as you are asked by the training instructor.
  5. At the end of the session please go to your car/ bike and leave the site, for this first session we would ask that you don't stay around in a big group, the clubhouse will not be open and drinks will not be available.
  6. If you are showing any symptoms of Covid 19 please don't attend the session.
Attached are two RFU guideline documents. The green one shows exactly what is expected at a training session for this phase of lockdown and is effectively the Covid risk assessment that must be adhered to. The second is the phased return to rugby document.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the session, we have lots of space and it is a great opportunity for everyone to reconnect with the club and get fit. Hopefully we will have a lovely sunny day!!!
Look forward to seeing you next Wednesday.
